BigCommerce Catalyst 1.8.0 adds Tax Display support and a channel-link CLI
Catalyst v1.8.0 now renders product prices as Inc. Tax, Ex. Tax, or Both based on the store’s Tax Display setting, closing a long-standing gap for EU/UK Catalyst storefronts. A new `channel link` CLI command connects a Catalyst project to a storefront channel and writes credentials to .env.local automatically.Source: BigCommerce →
Our take: EU/UK Catalyst stores: the Tax Display gap is closed — if that was your blocker for Catalyst, re-evaluate. The channel-link CLI also cuts setup friction on new storefront builds.

Google documented two ways to control “Found by Google” items — products it discovers by crawling your site rather than from a submitted feed. Apply a Pause attribute rule to auto-archive them after 14 days, or add the `data-nosnippet` attribute to product pages to stop Google discovering them via crawl.Source: Search Engine Roundtable →
Our take: Check Merchant Center for products you never submitted — Google may be listing retired products or pages you never meant to sell from. The Pause rule cleans up, data-nosnippet prevents. Worth a quarterly look.

BigCommerce announced PayPal StoreSync, an agentic-commerce integration that syncs BigCommerce store data with PayPal. Full feature details are still rolling out from the announcement post.Source: BigCommerce →
Our take: Announcement-stage: note it, don't plan around it yet. Store data synced into PayPal's agentic surface fits everything else on this page, and feature details will tell us whether it's a channel or a checkbox.

A new “AI Agent Setup” page connects BigCommerce’s developer documentation directly to AI coding tools — Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, and Claude Desktop — via an MCP server, with one-click install snippets. It makes the BigCommerce API queryable straight from an AI agent.Source: BigCommerce →
Our take: If your developers use AI coding tools, wire this up — it turns check-the-BigCommerce-docs into something the AI does mid-task. It's exactly how we build BigCommerce apps now.

The rebuilt Analytics — real-time data, custom dashboards, metric/dimension explorations, and ShopifyQL querying — now replaces the legacy reports interface automatically on every store. Worth verifying saved reports survived the switch.Source: Shopify Changelog →
Our take: On Shopify, verify your saved reports survived the switch this week. On any platform, this is what a forced analytics migration looks like. It's one reason we pin client reporting to GA4 and Search Console, which no platform swap can take away.

BigCommerce launched a US-only closed beta of Feedonomics Surface, which syncs marketplace inventory and pricing across Amazon FBM, eBay, and TikTok Shop. Merchant signups are open through August 5, 2026.Source: BigCommerce →
Our take: Multichannel BC merchants on Amazon, eBay, or TikTok Shop: signups close August 5. Inventory-sync errors across marketplaces are expensive, and a platform-native sync is worth the application even if you wait for general availability to rely on it.
