The problem
Advanced Automation's catalog wasn't really a catalog — it was thousands of configurable assemblies (drives, controllers, motors) where the right SKU depended on voltage, mounting, communications protocol, and a handful of other variables a buyer had to discuss with sales. Result: every quote took 30 minutes of phone time and the website was just a brochure.
What we built
- Two-way NetSuite ↔ BigCommerce sync — product master, inventory, pricing, customer data, and orders
- Custom SKU configurator — buyers select specs through guided flow; valid SKU + real-time price quoted instantly
- Account-level pricing tiers — 12 distributor tiers reconciled from NetSuite
- Order-handoff workflow — orders land in NetSuite with rep attribution and stay reconcilable
- Webhook retry queue — idempotent, dead-letter monitored, no silent failures
The numbers
"Our reps stopped quoting and started selling. The configurator does the routine work. They focus on the deals that need a human."
